Welcome to Merciful Minimal™, a trail guide to owning less. I am truly glad you’re here!  If the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, you’ll be relieved to find that the pathway to minimalism is a joyful journey filled with surprising self-discoveries and unexpected freedom.

And it doesn’t have to take a thousand steps.

A road less traveled…
The fact that you’re here suggests you are seeking a different path from the heavily worn consumer driven life that grinds away at your energy and resources. Like me, you may be searching for a new path, one that requires fewer “things”, but leaves wide margin for the things we actually value. Like me, you may have discovered that resisting the social pressure of bottomless consumption can be an arduous swim upstream. A lot of people are talking about “Minimalism” these days,  but you aren’t quite sure what it is or what it looks like in real life.

That’s what Merciful Minimal™ is all about.  You’re here, with me, at the trailhead. From here, step by step, we will share strategies to eliminate the excess that pollutes our lives while seeking to tame the wild forces that drive overconsumption in the first place. Each person’s expression of minimalism is unique, but together we can find the level of minimalism that fits our own individual lifestyles.

Along the trail, be kind to you!  Cutting loose from the familiar objects that have gradually collected like moss  in your life can take time.  It took years to accumulate and it won’t be gone overnight.  One thing I can assure you:  Embracing minimalism is a merciful choice:  For your own well-being, for freeing up resources to help others, and for the good of the environment. It is a process, and it will take focused energy.  But it will be so, so worth it.

Merciful Minimal™.  Happy Travels!
